Message from the President

Dear visitor to NPCC Alumni website,

Welcome to the official NPCC alumni site and there is also a blog amongst other links for your leisure surfing pleasure also.

I hope this will bring back some fond memories of your time spent in NPCC. The NPCC started in 1959 in Bartley Secondary School with 30 cadets as Police Cadet Corps(PCC) and had now grown to be one of the largest uniform group for the secondary school students in Singapore. Over the years, many of us had benefited from its co-circular activities of character moulding to be more caring, responsible and compassionate members of our nation.

I urged all who had been an NPCC cadet, NCOs or CIs, HOs or Teacher Officers to join us in the Alumni to build on the aspirations of the Corps while fostering friendship in this network. We welcomed ex-NPCC members who can identify with the alumni objectives:
(as in the Constitution of the National Police Cadet Corp Alumni Association of Singapore)

a) To uphold and further the objects of the NATIONAL POLICE CADET CORPS
b) To instil greater awareness and provide support to the activities organised by the NATIONAL POLICE CADET CORPS
c) To inculcate good citizenship and spirit of cooperation
d) To promote and enhance the interest and welfare of its members

Many had joined us and recently we were very honoured to have Dr Teo Ho Pin (Mayor, North West District). Constituency and Member of Parliment for Bukit Panjang to joined us Life Member together with some others as well. I sincerely appreciate this strong support and look forward to you joining us too.

Over the years, the Alumni had organised many meaningful activities. This included fund-raising for the Overseas Expedition Programme for the NPCC to allow for greater leadership exposure for our cadets. We participated in charity events, honing our shooting skills via the annual revolver shooting competition, jungle trek, organising National Service talk for our Cadet Inspectors, etc.

Our recently concluding AGM had the house endorsement to start an NPCC Alumni Endowment Fund and this would be a useful avenue to our NPCC units which may require some funding assistance for their projects or bursary for needy cadets, etc. A sub-commitee will be formed to charter this cause.

We welcome suggestion on how to improve our website and aimed to be umbrella vehicle to act on the interest of ex-NPCC members. You are also most welcome to sign-in our Guest Book online too.

We certainly hope to lend support to those who wish to organise reunion or activites for your batch. Better still, joined us amongst like minded passionate citizen to contribute back to the Corp in some ways.

We now had an elected Management Committee 2008/2010 with a wide ranging age profile and also ranging from ex Teacher Officer to ex-Cadet. I am sure we will be able to indentify with your feedback and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
