Andrew Tan was a Cadet Inspector in 1974/75 where he served for 2 years in HQ NPCC, Police Academy. He joined Police Cadet Corps in Sang Nila Utama Sec Sch ('where police wore shorts') and later transited to NPCC in Tanjong Katong Sec Tech Sch. Andrew was instrumental in the formation of the NPCC Alumni. Together with some others, he was recalled by NPCC HQ in 1999 to chart the course of an association for former NPCC members and subsequently headed NPCC Alumni Protem Committee. Upon the formation of the NPCC Alumni, Andrew was elected our founding President. After serving 2 consecutive terms as President, he handed over the baton to Koh Tong Seng. He had since continued his service in the Alumni from 2004.
