After serving as a NPCC Teacher-Officer during his teaching career, Thiagarajan carried on serving with the Corps as NPCC Liaison Officer upon his retirement. He was also one of the past Presidents of NPCC Alumni Management Committee.

Mr Thiagarajan, at his age of 76, passed away peacefully on 10 May 2008.
